Amonda
Amonda bridged the gap between digital nomads/remote workers and hospitality providers by transforming underperforming hotels into coliving spaces in Portugal. It catered to nomads seeking longer stays, lower prices, and community-driven experiences.
Challenge
Digital nomads needed affordable, community-focused accommodations, but hotels weren't tailored for long-term stays or remote work.
Solution
I founded Amonda to reposition underperforming hotels as coliving spaces, boosting occupancy and stay lengths while adding kiosks and experiences to lower costs and increase value. Though paused due to leasing issues, the model proved viable. Connection: My ability to reposition brands here built on Jar Bar's and Hangry Bowl's rapid validation, directly informing Foodello's international rebranding and Inspiriko's subscription pivot.
Approach
Strategy DevelopmentInitial phase
Developed a strategy to convert underutilized properties into nomad-friendly colivings.
Service EnhancementImplementation phase
Focused on increasing occupancy and stay length while introducing new services.
Contract NegotiationFinal phase
Negotiated leasing contracts to secure properties (paused due to delays).
Results
- Increased hotel occupancy and extended stay durations, reducing variable room costs
- Added services like automated kiosks and curated experiences to enhance offerings
- Project paused due to an unfinished hotel leasing contract
